COMMUNITY GARDEN

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA

Established in 1985, the Anthill Village Community Garden (AVCG) at UCI is an on-campus organization with members consisting of graduate students and current and retired faculty, who share their knowledge, expertise, and passion in gardening practices.

Engineers Without Borders, UCI and the American Society of Civil Engineers, UCI have been tasked to design and construct a viable drainage system in order to mitigate flooding, soil erosion, and damages that result from heavy rainfall during the wet season.

Our team of undergraduate Civil and Environmental Engineering students will use their knowledge and expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) and fluid mechanics to propose implementation of various drainage pipeline systems and improve the existing conditions of the community garden. We hope to use this opportunity with the AVCG community and the knowledge we gain to promote more sustainable gardening practices.
